The Walsingham Gallery will host a painting demonstration with James Kubiatowicz on October 19th from 3-7 p.m. Kubiatowicz's gestural paintings capture the small, but significant moments in people's lives. His glimpses of grocery shopping, walks in the woods, elegant dances, tea parties, and billiard games are familiar scenes and yet they have a way of reaching us on an intimate and more personal level.
As a young man, Mr. Kubiatowicz trained with a professional artist for a year, and then attended the Minnesota School of Art and Design as well as the University of Minnesota, where he earned his degree. Leading up to his career as a professional painter, James had been a creative director in the corporate world and owned a design studio specializing in the illustration of product concepts.
As an evolving artist, James is constantly challenging himself to experiment with limited palettes, as well as variations of tones and paint densities.
