Instead of focusing on just illegal immigrants, let's learn about the legal immigrants who are now coming to Massachusetts. This month's emphasis will be on the families coming here from Burma. James Si Si Aung, himself a refugee from Burma, is a Community Health Worker in the Refugee and Immigrant Health Program for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Isla Glaister, a citizen of Great Britain, has worked for non-profit organizations in and around Burma for the past five years. These two will be the guest speakers for the Immigration Matters Study group on Wednesday October 5 at 7PM. Their personal experience both in Burma and now in Massachusetts with these refugees is quite illuminating. Come and learn about your new neighbors.
