Hard Hat Comedy: Bob Niles, Jason Merrill and Danny Miller
Bob Niles, Jason Merrill and Dan Miller have been killing it on Boston comedy stages for years, and then hauling themselves to work at union construction jobs the next morning. Along with special guest host Mona Forgione, a former roller derby queen, they'll bring 90 minutes of high-energy, gut-busting, blue collar comedy to the Lo Kai Restaurant in Dracut, Mass. on Saturday, October 7! Tickets are $50 for buffet dinner-and-show, with doors open at 6, buffet from 6:20 to 7:35, and showtime at 8. All seats are reserved. Show-only tickets may be available at the door for $30 (cash only), if seats are available. Must be 21+. Bob Niles has been a popular comedian in New England for more than 25 years, headlining shows at comedy clubs, Elks clubs, Lions clubs, country clubs, Rotary clubs, and just regular traffic rotaries. Niles has lived an unusual life, and when he examines this life for people to see, the results are pure dynamite! Bob was just 20 years old when his first child was born, and his second child came when he was 46!! What happened in between gets looked at and the results are hilarious. From the Woodstock-generation to the 21st century, Niles has been a confused observer and a baffled participant. With an act that’s one part Saturday-morning cartoon character and one part pro-wrestler, Jason Merrill is a fast-rising Boston comedian with an animated style. The latest in a line of strong comedians from the great city of Lawrence, Massachusetts, he has impressed audiences with his streetwise style and good-natured exuberance. He has shared the stage with accomplished comedians such as Juston McKinney, Lenny Clarke, Christine Hurley, Joe Yannetty, and Steve Sweeney. A native of the South End in Boston, Dan Miller was born a comedian but made it official when he burst onto the local comedy scene in the 1990w. Since then, he has teamed with local and national headliners including Lenny Clarke, Paul Nardizzi, Dane Cook, and Dave Attell. He’s also done a turn as an actor and improv comedian as a lead in the Boston-area dinner theater production of “Mario and Mary’s Italian Comedy Wedding.” He has since been honing his craft in comedy clubs throughout New England. He’s trained at The Actor’s Workshop and at the Harrison Project with well-known acting coach Peter Kelly, and has appeared on regional television commercials. After retiring from competitive Roller Derby with two busted up shoulders, city girl Mona Forgione is now a New Hampshire mother of three and has fully embraced the midlife crisis of standup comedy. Audiences approve. She's advanced up the ranks of the New England Comedy scene, sharing the stage with headliners such as Mike McDonald, Dave Rattigan and Kathe Farris. She was a semifinalist in the 2020 Boston Comedy Festival, performed at the 2022 Portland Maine Comedy Festival, and has made radio appearances on FrankFm with Mike Morin, WGIR with Jack Heath, and WJYY with Nazzy Nazz.
