Community Blood Drive

The American Red Cross of Northeast Massachusetts will be hosting a blood drive on July 18, 2012 that will be sponsored by the Peabody Fire Department. The event will be held at the Peabody Red Cross Chapter which is located at 85 Lowell Street. Appointments can be made from 1:00 PM-6:00 PM. The American Red Cross has an EMERGENCY need for blood and platelet donors of all blood types. In June, blood donations were down more than 10 percent across the country, with 50,000 fewer pints of blood than expected. Although everyone is busy with fun summer activities, it is important to remember to donate. Donors will receive a coupon for a free carton of Friendly's ice cream after donating blood or platelets.
