Artist Demonstration with Beatrice Dauge-Kaufmann
The Walsingham Gallery’s Artist in Session Series presents a painting
demonstration by artist Beatrice Dauge-Kaufmann on Sat., June 23, from
3-7 p.m. This event is part of ArtWalk.
Dauge-Kaufmann studied art in Lausanne, Switzerland where she was
raised, as well as in London, Paris, and Florence. Now a Massachusetts
resident, she perceives the hues of her adopted home through
brilliantly colored lenses. Where many artists focus on the grey that
often dominates our view and much of New England landscape and coastal
painting, Dauge-Kaufmann chooses not to see it at all.
A rising star in contemporary art, Dauge-Kaufmann is known for her
passionately positive interpretation of landscape, her lush, saturated
colors, and for the unrestrained quality of her brush strokes.
“Freedom is my inspiration,” says the artist in describing her
process.
