A Night to Celebrate Children
The Exchange Club of Greater Newburyport is offering an evening of information and entertainment on parenting during Child Abuse Prevention Month. The evening will promote local services available to parents and provide information on helping their children to make better choices and to build their self-esteem. Performances from local high school students will be interspersed throughout the program.
6:30 PM to 7:00 PM
Theater Lobby, Meet representatives from the Beacon Coalition, the Newburyport Learning Enrichment Center, and the Michael B. Christensen Community & Family Support Center while listening to a quartet from The Governor's Academy.
7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Formal program with informational speakers such as Mayor Holaday, Representative Michael Costello, representatives from the Beacon Coalition and District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett's office, and keynote speaker Sue Mitchell, Co-Director of the Michael B. Christensen Community & Family Support Center in Lawrence. Students from The Governor's Academy, Trition Regional High School, and Newburyport High School will also perform.
9:00 to 9:30 PM
Light refreshments.
Open to the public to capacity. Suggested donations: toiletries for babies, men and women such as baby wipes and lotion, diapers, toothbrushes and toothpaste, deodorant, soap, shampoo, dish liquid, laundry detergent. All donated items will benefit local families who participate in the parent aide programs sponsored by the Center.
